David Bucklin, Manager, Design Operations
Global Design Team

Career chats provide a casual platform for students to ask career questions and occasionally feature guest speakers from the local bioscience community. Join the September 17 session for an informal conversation with David Bucklin, Manager of Design Operations at MilliporeSigma to learn more about careers in scientific product development and manufacturing and build connections with the bioscience community.

David Bucklin is a seasoned Operations Director with 25 years’ experience in the Life Sciences and Specialty Chemicals businesses. David currently works at MilliporeSigma, a division of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. David began his 20 year tenure at MilliporeSigma (then known as JRH Bioseciences) in the QC Lab testing Cell Culture Media and serum products for release. David took on his first leadership role as the Production Supervisor in the Serum Operations group, and since then has spent time in St. Louis and Irvine Scotland as a Site Director in each location. Upon his return from Scotland in 2018, David created a new global functional unit called the CCM Global Design Team and is currently the Global Design Operations Manager for this team.

Prior to MilliporeSigma, David spent time at Bayer Cropscience, Xenotech (now Sekisui), and as a veterinary technician in a small animal hospital. David achieved his BS Degree in Biology from the University of Iowa.
